Today and Planning

Trackely keeps the daily control surfaces simple until there is real work to manage.

What Today is for

Today is the operational control view. It is meant to answer four questions quickly:

  • What needs attention now?
  • What is blocked?
  • What changed since planning?
  • What is the safest next action?

Why Today can look quiet

If there are no live routes, no draft routes, no unassigned orders, and no active exceptions for the selected service date, Today stays intentionally light. In that state, Trackely does not show exception recovery panels, drift summaries, or release blockers because there is nothing real to control yet.

What Planning is for

Planning is where work is prepared for dispatch. Once orders exist for the selected date, Planning expands into:

  • route building
  • leftover and unassigned work review
  • driver and vehicle assignment checks
  • publish readiness and release blockers

Why Planning starts in a simpler mode

When no orders are loaded for the selected service date, Planning stays in a starter state so the page does not overwhelm the dispatcher with empty readiness panels and route scaffolding. The full planning workflow appears automatically once real work is available.

Changing the service date

Both Today and Planning are scoped to the selected service date. If you switch dates, Trackely reloads the corresponding operational state for that day.
